The next time you visit a Marriott hotel, you could be in for some memorable service experience. This is because Amazon’s (AMZN) specialized version of Alexa for hotels will help customize your hospitality experience.
The e-commerce giant today entered into a partnership with multinational hospitality company Marriott International (MAR), which will help Marriott improve the services it offers to its guests. Most importantly, the deal strengthens Amazon’s presence in the hospitality industry.

Right from switching on the lights, keeping an alarm to notifying for housekeeping, Alexa does it all. The technology, which is available to other hoteliers only through an invite-only system, will be available from this summer at selected hotels of Marriott group.

Customers can even connect to the Echo speakers in the hotel room using their personal Amazon account. Amazon assures customers that the hotel will not have any access to their personal data, and at the time of checkout, the account gets disconnected from the device.

Currently, Amazon’s Alexa is way ahead of Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google Assistant and Apple’s (AAPL) Siri. To prevent losing its customers to its competitors, Amazon recently rolled out several variations of Alexa devices. And now it is working on offering its customers a specialized version of Alexa itself — like Alexa for cars and now, Alexa for hospitality.
