Amazon declares new perk on Whole Foods

On Tuesday, Amazon announced it would offer a 5% cashback to the holders of the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card and a 3% cashback to owners of the non-Prime one on purchases made at Whole Foods.

Amazon has also offered a two-hour delivery service for Whole Foods purchases in select cities

The Prime Rewards card was introduced over a year ago to encourage people to sign up for the Prime membership and increase spending on Amazon.com. Cardholders get a 1-2% cashback on all purchases through the card, but this is the first time Amazon is giving a cashback of 5% outside its website.

Amazon has offered numerous discounts and deals after the acquisition of Whole Foods. Along with discounts on staple items, there was even a deal on turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Amazon has also offered a two-hour delivery service for Whole Foods purchases in select cities.

It looks like Amazon is going out of its way to gain a stronghold in the grocery space.
