While the slowdown witnessed in the semiconductor industry late last year and the first half of this year seems to have finally eased, thanks to demand recover, unfavorable macroeconomic backdrop and China-related headwinds continue to be major show spoilers.
A pricing war between Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) and Intel Corp (NASDAQ: INTC) in the processor market is also not helping the stocks as both end up denting their margins. AMD may currently be riding high on its partnership with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) but it’s high time the chip-maker starts formulating a growth plan beyond this deal.
