GrafTech International Ltd. (NYSE: EAF), a leading manufacturer of graphite electrode products, announced the appointment of Marcel Kessler as president and chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2022. He has also been named to the company’s board of directors.

Kessler replaces David Rintoul, who will be retiring from the company and resigning from the board of directors. Before joining GrafTech, Kessler served as the president and chief executive officer of Pason Systems Inc. He is currently holding the post of chairman of the board of directors of Pason. Prior to his stint at Pason, Kessler served Exploration Logistics Group as president of North America.

Last month, GrafTech’s board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.01 per share, payable on June 30, 2022, to stockholders of record on May 31, 2022.

The company’s adjusted earnings increased 29% to $0.48 per share in the first quarter of 2022, when revenues climbed 20% to $366.2 million. The top line benefited from higher sales volumes and production volumes.
