Hope Bancorp, Inc. (HOPE) Annual Net Interest Margin Expands as Hawaiian Integration Drives 9% Deposit Growth

By Staff Correspondent |

Hope Bancorp reported fourth-quarter net income of $34.5 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, up 12% from the third quarter of 2025 and 42% from the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter reached $145.8 million, exceeding the consensus estimate of $142.9 million. Full-year 2025 net income totaled $61.6 million, or $0.49 per share, though adjusted earnings excluding notable items like merger expenses reached $113.3 million ($0.89 per share), a 10% increase year-over-year.

Net interest income (NII) before provision for credit losses rose to $127.4 million in Q4, representing a 25% increase over the prior-year quarter. Net interest margin (NIM) expanded to 2.90%, up from 2.50% in Q4 2024. Total deposits ended the year at $15.60 billion, up 9% year-over-year, primarily bolstered by the integration of Territorial Bancorp and a strategic reduction in brokered deposit reliance.

While regional banking continues to show resilience, broader macro pressures affecting SaaS and software stocks — such as “seat-count” rationalization and high-interest rates — have had a limited direct impact on the bank’s core commercial real estate (CRE) portfolio. Analysts at Zacks Investment Research noted an 8% positive earnings surprise today, while the board declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.14 per share, payable on February 20, 2026.
