Energy services holding company Sempra Energy reported a marginal spike in its revenue for fourth quarter 2017 of 3.2% to $2.96 billion from $2.87 billion a year ago. The company reported a loss of $501 million or $1.99 per share compared to a profit of $379 million or $1.51 per share a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share improved 1.31% to $1.54 per share from $1.52 per share in the same period in 2016.
Outlook
For 2018, Sempra Energy affirmed its earnings per share guidance range of $5.30 to $5.80, reflecting both accretion from the expected closing of the Oncor transaction and the impact of federal tax reform.
The company said its California utilities are executing on their robust capital programs to reinforce their systems and filed their General Rate Case applications for 2019.
