Apple Special Event 2019 Live Update: Unveils iPhone 11 Pro, Apple Watch and more
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) kicked off its much-awaited launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, Tuesday around 1:00 pm. Thousands of Apple fans across the world have tuned in to the special event to take a first look at the new products and services from the tech giant.
The session started with an introduction to Apple Arcade, a gaming service featuring an array of games that will be available from September 19 in more than 150 countries. Priced at $4.99 a month, the service starts with a free trial.
Apple TV+
Apple TV+, the subscription video and movie service, will be launched on November 1 at a price of $4.99 per month. Initially, the service will be available in 100 countries and will have new shows every month. Those who purchase the other Apple devices will get a one-year free subscription to Apple TV+.
New iPad
After CEO Tim Cook’s introductory speech, the all-new seventh-generation iPad was launched. The 10.2-inch device is priced at $329, while the more affordable version comes at $299. The new iPad is available for order immediately and shipping will begin on September 30.
Apple Watch
Then the executives moved on to the new Apple Watch, which has several features for healthcare research. Currently, it covers three studies – the Apple Hearing Study, Apple Women’s Health Study and Apple Heart & Movement Study.
The new Series – 5 Watch boasts of an all-day 18-hour battery, always-on display and a bult-in compass. The main variants are priced at $399 and $499 and will be available on September 20.
iPhone 11
Then came the new iPhone. Putting an end to speculations, Cook announced the iPhone 11. The next-generation iPhone comes in six new colors, featuring what the company calls an ‘ultra-wide’ camera. The two-camera combination is rich in advanced features. The new iPhone works on the latest A13 Bionic chip, which is touted as the fastest smartphone processor.
The iPhone can be pre-ordered on the Apple Store from next month. It has an hour more battery life than the previous iPhone. Featuring a 6.1-inch display, the device comes at a price of $699.
The more advanced version, the iPhone 11 Pro is the most powerful smartphone ever made by Apple. Pro will be available in four colors and features the Super Retina XDR display. Pro, which offers about 5 hours of more battery life than its predecessor, has a combination of three cameras.
iPhone 11 Pro is priced at $999, while iPhone 11 Pro Max will be available for $1,099. The devices can be pre-ordered starting Friday, and shipping will start on September 20.
Apple shares traded near the $215-mark during Tuesday’s regular session. The stock, which hit a peak in July, is up 35% since last year.
